Dr. Ann Bainbridge Frymier is a Professor and Director of Communication Studies at Ohio University. With an Ed.D. in Communication Studies and Curriculum and Instruction from West Virginia University, she has dedicated her career to advancing the field of instructional communication. Her research primarily focuses on the teaching-learning process as a communication phenomenon, exploring how instructors’ behaviors, such as humor, nonverbal immediacy, and clarity, impact student engagement, motivation, and learning.
