I’m Sharilyn Rennie, a Professor of Anatomy and Physiology in Northern California. My teaching philosophy centers on making complex biological systems accessible, engaging, and relevant—especially for students pursuing careers in healthcare. I use team-based learning, clinical case integration, and active study strategies to help students master the material. I am working on a gig project creating an academic resilience coaching program to help students build the confidence they need to succeed in rigorous programs. My goal is not only to teach basic medical science, but to support the whole student—equipping them with the tools to think critically, collaborate effectively, and persevere under pressure.
