\(@ ̄∇ ̄@)/ We’re launching new questions types soon and we’d love to know what you think!
Watch this 14-minute video to see the new question types static prototype --see how it’ll look like or you can also click this link to view some slides describing them.
These look really great, especially for application activities. One of the challenges we have had is with developing application exercises that are complex/rich enough without just using free response questions. These provide more options for more complex problems that still have fixed options and lend themselves to simultaneous reveal and discussion.
My (hopefully constructive) feedback is:
For the matching/pairing types of questions, it would be very helpful to have the ability for answer options to be used more than once (one:many with one answer to many questions) in addition to the inverse of that that is already present on one of the question types.
For the the matching/pairing types of questions, it would also helpful to be able to have unused distractors for each question type. I’m sorry for mixing up the question type names, but it looked like there were some where unused answer options were possible and others where all answers needed to be used.
For data display of the sequencing questions, I would suggest going with the second, more compact option. While the first option is more expressive, it’s also harder to parse and doesn’t fit on screen as well. The second option is also more in line with the presentation for the other question types.
That said, the sequence order responses are labeled numerically, but the answer options were ordered a,b,c, so I would just suggest making those match in one direction or the other.
That said, these look like great additions to InteDashbaord and will give us more tools in the toolbox when developing TBL activities.
@zmussigslu Welcome to the community! (/^▽^)/
These are great feedback! The ability to use answer options more than once and inclusion of distractors to each type are great addition. The data display is definitely something we need our users’ feedback on since you’re the one’s who’ll eventually use them. We’ll evolve the development of these questions’ interface as we gather more insights. Thank you.
