Hi,
I wanted to share the results from a research study we did evaluating the impact of AI on peer feedback/peer evaluations. The results demonstrated that using AI as a thought-partner in the peer feedback process significantly enhanced the specificity and usability of peer feedback comments. Even better, students were more likely to highlight areas for improvement, and what their peers could do better in the future.

I would love to hear questions, thoughts, and concerns β or even better, if youβre using AI in the peer evaluation process please share!
Key points for implementing this in your TBL class:
- The prompt that students used was carefully created through an iterative process by myself and other faculty members. In other words, we didnβt leave students up to their own vices.
- Students still had to make evaluative judgments of their peers. In other words, AI was there to help craft the message β but students still had to provide the context and specifics of what their peers did well, could improve upon, or could do differently in the future.
