Dear fellow educators,
I want to invite you to a workshop with me and Lauren Anderson on Facilitator Fitness:
Strengthening Facilitation Skills Beyond the Basics on Aug 5, 11 am EDT / 4 pm BST. In
this session, we will analyze facilitation examples and explore practical strategies for
leading focused, learner-centered discussions.
Pre-Work
- Review the facilitator quality items on the FIT tool (Appendix A, p. 10 from Ruth E. Levine, Peggy Hsieh, P. Adam Kelly, et al. (2020) The Facilitator Instrument for Team-Based Learning (FIT), Teaching and Learning in Medicine, 32:1, 82-90, DOI: 10.1080/10401334.2019.1646653)
Learning objectives:
- Describe facilitation tactics that are ideal when helping learners explore, develop,
validate and consolidate ideas and concepts - Critique facilitation examples for given TBL situations using a facilitation scoring tool
- Select the best strategies for diverse intra- and inter-team TBL facilitation scenarios
Let’s develop practical facilitation strategies to guide productive, learner-centered TBL
discussions.
You can register here.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
