Dear fellow educators,

I want to invite you to a workshop with me and Lauren Anderson on Facilitator Fitness:
Strengthening Facilitation Skills Beyond the Basics
on Aug 5, 11 am EDT / 4 pm BST. In
this session, we will analyze facilitation examples and explore practical strategies for
leading focused, learner-centered discussions.

Pre-Work

  1. Review the facilitator quality items on the FIT tool (Appendix A, p. 10 from Ruth E. Levine, Peggy Hsieh, P. Adam Kelly, et al. (2020) The Facilitator Instrument for Team-Based Learning (FIT), Teaching and Learning in Medicine, 32:1, 82-90, DOI: 10.1080/10401334.2019.1646653)

Learning objectives:

  1. Describe facilitation tactics that are ideal when helping learners explore, develop,
validate and consolidate ideas and concepts
  2. Critique facilitation examples for given TBL situations using a facilitation scoring tool
  3. Select the best strategies for diverse intra- and inter-team TBL facilitation scenarios
Let’s develop practical facilitation strategies to guide productive, learner-centered TBL
    discussions.

You can register here.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
