What does effective TBL co-facilitation/facilitation look like?

I recently came across an insightful segment in the TBLC’s newsletter on co-facilitating TBL sessions.

The key takeaways: effective co-facilitation depends on preparation, clear roles, and mutual respect. Co-facilitators should agree in advance on who will lead each part of the session, how they will respond to student questions, and how they will add to one another’s points without interrupting or creating confusion.

Many of these principles also apply to TBL facilitation more broadly. Facilitators need to manage discussion, maintain participation across teams, respond flexibly in the moment, and keep the learning objectives at the centre of the session.
