Community-Exclusive Event: Driving Student Engagement with Confidence-Based Testing and 4S Activities

Join us for an interactive discussion on Driving Student Engagement with Confidence-Based Testing and 4S Activities with fellow TBL educators.

@NealCarter (Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University, TBLC-certified trainer-consultant, and TBLC President-elect) will be facilitating the conversation on Oct 7 (Wed), 10am EDT / 3pm BST.

Designed for community members who are already familiar with the basic fundamentals of TBL, this session will focus on sharing experiences, discussing what works in practice, and exploring why different approaches may strengthen student engagement and ownership of learning.

Together, we’ll discuss:

  1. How readiness assurance and 4S application activities can influence participation, discussion, and engagement
  2. How confidence-based testing can encourage students to reflect on what they know and how certain they are
  3. How metacognitive activities can help students examine their thinking and reasoning

We’ll also explore potential ideas for research projects around these approaches.
