Hi all, our colleque Paula Broersen (my partner in crime for TBL at the LUMC), is having a spinal cord injury caused by an acccedent. So young, so sad! But she is very taff: last week, 5 month after her accident, she gave her first workshop for work. Online in TBL format! I’m so proud of her! Online TBL support can be her future! I would like to share this because she is a member of our community and we can help her feeling included so please feel free to send her a massage on linked in! Her message is in English. Feel free to support the growd funding. But only a linkedin messege on her post is a big support also! Thank you all!
I hope that many will read this message from Jolanda and respond to help Paula.
They are both valued members of our TBL community.
Thank you so much.
Here is what TBLC Consultant Jolanda Mol recently shared with me:
Paula is a TBL colleague with me at the LUMC in the Netherlands. She completed the TBLC Fundamentals in 2023.
Unfortunately, she had a spinal cord injury caused by an accident.
Five months after her accident, she gave her first TBL workshop–online in TBL format!
I am so proud of her! Online TBL support can be her future!
Please read and share this message. Your consideration of support is greatly appreciated.
Help Paula move with our campaign for adapted wheelchair-friendly means of transport and support in her recovery!
No double backflip with a medal as the result, but a life completely turned upside down… Unfortunately, this is the harsh reality for our sporty, energetic, life-loving, and dear Paula.
During her participation in the Dutch Wakeboarding Championships in July 2024, Paula’s life crashed, quite literally. Broken cervical vertebrae and a spinal cord injury followed, leaving this loving and single mother of Mila (2) facing immense challenges.
It’s a miracle that Paula is still alive, but it’s a nightmare that is slowly becoming her reality. Paula is currently in a wheelchair. Her neck is immobilized with pins, and she cannot move it same story for her legs. Her arms function only minimally.
She must and is fighting incredibly hard for rehabilitation and for the hope of regaining even a small part of the life she once loved and enjoyed so much.
We, as friends, stand on the sidelines, feeling powerless. Thankfully, there are small steps in the right direction, but progress is slow. Sadly, we are discovering the limitations of the well-organized Dutch healthcare system.
That’s why we’re launching this campaign to do everything we can to provide medical aids and, most importantly, a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Owning a wheelchair-friendly van is costly, but it offers freedom, mobility, and support to someone who desperately needs it.
Paula has always been there for everyone. Now, we hope that you readers, friends, family, acquaintances, or even strangers moved by this story will help her. Together, we can take away the burden of financial worries in this unfair fight.
On behalf of Paula, her family, and her friends, we thank you for your support.
Every contribution, big or small, is deeply appreciated!
We will keep donors updated on how the funds are being used and on Paula’s progress!

Let’s stand together and show Paula that she is not alone in this fight. We encourage everyone to donate and spread the word about this campaign so that we can help ease her burden and give her the opportunity to regain some control over her life.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support for Paula.
